NSK Outdoor 2009
Last Sunday, the NUTS hosted a spectacular event: NSK Outdoor Open Ultimate 2009. Hilco and Tim put their great minds to good use which resulted in a well-organized jolly gathering of students from all over NL. Present teams: WAF (Wageningen), Panic (Leiden), Force Elektro (Delft), Gronical Dizziness (Groningen), VertUFO (Vertigo from Eindhoven combined with UFO from Utrecht) and two NUTS teams.
Throughout the day, all teams played each other once (Round Robin). In a final round of games the final positions were decided. The results:
1. GD
2. Force
3. NUTS 1
4. NUTS 2 + SOTG
5. WAF
6. VertUFO
7. Panic
The lovely day was supported by the weathergods as we had many enjoyable sunny moments. Some raindrops throughout the day, nothing serious. Some more raindrops during the final, but by the time this turned into a real shower, we had moved indoors for the prize ceremony and dinner in the FIT cantine. Nice, dry, warm and hungry frisbee players filled the cantine. A little bit of dancing happened. An Easter Egg Hunt happened. Chilling happened. Good way to end this fine day.
High lights:
- All teams showed constant magnificent spirit..
- Jack (NUTS 1) in a game against GD laying out for a score in a HUGE puddle, spashing water all over the place, only keeping the disc safe and dry.
- Jeroen (?) and Erik (GD) pulled The Jack in the final.. yeah spectacular final!
- Tess and Mr. Tom brought sunshine!
We reckon this was a BIG succes and will definitely host NSK again next year. Rumor has it that GD is planning on hosting NSK Indoor in the fall. What a way to boost student ultimate in NL!

Right to Play Indoor
on Sunday 15 March, the NUTS travelled to Delft for the Right to Play Indoor
tournament.
the almighty NUTS that were present were, alphabetically (and possibly
with spelling mistakes): Anne-Lies, Jack, Jelte, Jesse W., Lisa,
Padraig, Umberto, and Willemijn.
throughout the entire day we played great Ultimate.
we invented new crazy strategies that baffled our opponents and
dazzled the crowd.
we threw some wild Tetris zone defence and counter attacked with
stunning Super Mario offence.
when it worked, resisting the sheer and overwhelming awesomeness of
the NUTS was hopeless.
the game was ours... when it did not work, we gave our opponents a
hard time and the games that we lost were always very close. great
work NUTS!!
after the games when our opponents thought it was all over, we
introduced them to our version of Space Invaders to ensure that they
would always remember the NUTS as the funnest student team in Dutch
Ultimate.
it was a great week-end.
we won more games than we lost and played solidly throughout the
entire week-end. no one ever let the team down, even Willemijn who
attempted to knock down a brick wall with her forehead to score a
point did not decrease her level of play after the hit. some say she
actually improved her game after that point...
overall we happily came fifth.
spirit was won by the UFO girls youth team, a bunch of 14 years old
girls who i suspect will become the best women's team of all times
when they reach our age...
congratulations to all the beginner's that played this week-end.
i think that you have all played extremely well and have adapted
quickly to the new-to-you indoor version of Ultimate.
i find it hard to believe that you are all only beginners and i cannot
wait to see what a few years of experience will make of you!!

NSK one week away!
Hallo iedereen!!
Alle inschrijvingen en de meeste voorbereidingen zijn rond!! We zijn heel erg blij dat jullie allemaal naar Amsterdam komen om samen op zondag 29 maart 2009 het officiele NSK ultimate nieuw leven in te blazen!!
De kosten zijn EUR 100,- per team, gelieve over te maken naar:

Oh het wordt een gedenkwaardige dag! Met mooie prijzen en lekker eten inbegrepen!! -Genoeg vega en ook de omnivoren kunnen hun lol op- Natuurlijk kun je de after ook niet missen, met een drankje, een dansje en een paar games onder de bezielende leiding van onze eigen Party Baron: Mr Rogierie Gezellie Aanwezig!!
We gaan door tot een uurtje of 23:00, en hebben een paar slaapplaatsen beschikbaar voor de mensen die dat willen! Laat het dan wel even van te voren weten en vergeet je tandenborstel niet : )
Wij hebben er heel erg zin in!! Volgende week volgt het speelschema en de laatste huishoudelijke mededelingen!!

ZOMERTIJD!! In de nacht van zaterdag 28 op zondag 29 wordt om 2 uur de klok een uur vooruit gezet!! Zorg er voor dat je team hier goed van op de hoogte is! Want de eerste wedstrijden moeten op tijd beginnen!! 10 uur sharp (inderdaad, 9 uur voor je gevoel)
